Koinonia Service

On January 29, 2017, Psi Alpha Alpha Brothers fellowshipped in unity at New Horizon Christian Faith Church in Woodbridge, VA. at the invitation of Psi Alphajan-29-2017-5th-sunday Alpha Chaplain, Brothers Cornelius Beidleman and Rev. Theodore Strange, III for the Koinonia Service. The service began at 9:00 am and the Brothers had a great time of fellowship, worship, and friendship. Koinonia is a Greek word that occurs 20 times in the Bible. Koinonia’s primary meaning is “fellowship, sharing in common, communion”.

The next fellowship will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2017 for the NA II Memorial Service. Psi Alpha Alpha Chapter will lead this effort. The church location and time of service will be posted on the District Calendar. However, I encourage you all to plan to attend.  The attire is Omega Dress (Black/Dark Blue Suit, White Shirt, Purple Tie, Black Socks and Black Shoes). Read More…

 

We Shall Not Be Moved March on Washington6march-on-washington

Partnering with Reverend Al Sharpton and the National Action Network (NAN), the men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated ventured into Washington, D.C. to brave the elements for a worthy cause. The We Shall Not Be Moved March on Washington was created to preserve and protect the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and the legacy of President Barack Obama. It was only fitting to conduct such a march on the holiday weekend of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. himself. Brothers from Omega Psi Phi were called to serve as ushers on this monumental occasion in light of the election of then President Elect Donald Trump and the continue disparities of treatment of people of color. The 36th Anniversary Celebration of

the Psi Alpha Alpha Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

In the presence of charter members Willard Jasper, Ronald Lofton, Senior, Marion Barnwell, and Isaiah Barnwell, Junior, several members of the Psi Alpha Alpha chapter gathered at the Marriott in Fair Oaks, Virginia to celebrate and reflect on the chapter’s 36th anniversary. December 26 of each year marks the founding of the Psi Alpha Alpha chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity’s existence in Fairfax, Va. Since that time, the chapter has done much to be proud of and is continually charting new plans to extend its outreach efforts in the community it serves.

2016 ANNUAL CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY PARTY – GUMS SPRINGS COMMUNITY CENTER, ALEXANDRIA, VA:

Psi Alpha Alpha Cgumsprings-holidayhapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., was again relied upon to assist the Gums Springs Community Center with hosting their Annual Christmas
Holiday Party with manpower and funding. This year’s effort was led by Ms. Katina
Matthews, Service Area Manager, Department of Neighborhood and Community
Services, Gum Springs Community Center, and our own Brother Marion “Barney”
Barnwell.
On December 17, 2016, the brothers of Psi Alpha Alpha Chapter arrived early to
prepare the snacks, assist in the opening ceremony, help as the children of all ages
created Christmas crafts, received their gifts, and ended with a visit and photo with
