On September 21, 2019 the Psi Alpha Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated participated, sponsored, raised and donated $1,175. Members of other DMV chapters were also present and participated in the 5k walk. The joint members of Omega Psi Phi enjoyed a morning fulfilled fellowship and a health walk. The event started at the Washington DC Monument (2 15th St NW, Washington, DC 20024) went to Lincoln Memorial and back to the Monument. The event was from 8am to 11am. The walk was about 1 hour. The reason for the brothers participating in this worthwhile event was to raise awareness in the community about diabetes, support life-saving research, help those being discriminated against as result of being diagnosed with diabetes, as well as a morning of fellowship and healthy walk.
Total raised $241,770 with 658 participants and 91 teams. The total volunteer hours of the Psi Alpha Alpha brothers, family and friends was approximately 45 hours. Throughout the event, there were several events consisting of aerobics, stretching, and dancing just to name a few. The DJ play smooth sounds during for the participants.
