Announcement of our Annual

International High School Essay Contest

As a mandated element of the Annual International
Achievement Week Observance

There are cash prizes at the local, district, and international levels.
The local winner will be automatically submitted for the 3rd District competition.

Local Award: $500.00

2018 winner Taeveona Rosemond-Francis with Brothers Barrye Price and Craig Spraggins.

International Awards:
Four College Scholarships

1st Scholarship: $5,000

2nd Scholarship: $3,000

3rd Scholarship: $2,000

4th Scholarship: $1,000

International scholarship winners will be announced on or about June 1, 2020.


The Contest is open to all college-bound, high school seniors who submit an essay application
through a Chapter of the Fraternity. Essays submitted via Psi Alpha Alpha Chapter are
limited to students living in and/or attending Fairfax Co. or and Arlington Co. Schools.

Contest Closes:
October 18, 2019


The essay must be entitled:

The US Census projects that the United States will become a majority minority country by the year 2045.  How can we combat, prevent and/or reduce prejudice, discrimination and violence in a new, more diverse America?

The essay must be original and neither previously
published nor secured by copyright.

The essay must be between 700 and 750 words in length.
