On February 10, 2019, the men of Psi Alpha Alpha (PsiAA) Chapter, Third District, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., hosted our annual Sweetheart Affair on board the Spirit of Washington Cruise Lines at 600 Water St. SW, in Washington, D.C. The Men of Psi Alpha Alpha escorted their wives and significant others aboard the vessel which embarked on the Potomac River promptly at 11:30 am.
The Spirit of Washington featured a climate-controlled dining room with a live band, DJ, dance floor, on-board photographer, exclusive buffet assortment and a cash bar. During the 2-hour event, the band provided an array of smooth music that complimented the warm and friendly atmosphere. PsiAA Basileus, Brother Eric Kelly, welcomed party-goers with thanks and gratitude midway through the afternoon festivities. Brother Joe Briggs presented treats to everyone on-board. He also provided a raffle with an opportunity for 10 females to win. The raffle was entertaining and provided additional laughter. As part of the overall experience, each woman was given a Valentine’s Day card with that include a token of appreciation.
The cruise concluded with live music and dancing as we returned to the docks on the Potomac River. All passengers agreed that this was a very worthwhile event, and that it should be continued annually as it was truly a remarkable and memorable event.
