Guest speaker, performers, and Exe. Dir. New Hope
On February 26, 2019, the men of Psi Alpha Alpha (PsiAA) Chapter, Third District, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. participated in the New Hope Housing annual black history program hosted by Bethlehem Baptist Church in Alexandria Virginia.
Before the program began, the Bethlehem Baptist Church provided a lavish dinner consisting of a wide verity of sides (Veg. Rice, Collard greens, Toss Salad, Cornbread, etc.), main entrees (Baked/Fried/Jerk Chicken, Fish, and BBQ Ribs), and dessert (ice cream and peach cobbler).
The Psi Alpha Alpha Chapter was honored to have our very own chapter brother Lieutenant General (LTG) Bruce Crawford to be selected to be the guest speaker. LTG Crawford brought forth an enthusiastic, powerful, encouraging, and inspirational message consisting of how we should continue to preserve to reach our goals and believe in yourself while surrounding yourself with positive people. The program was very diverse as the residents of New Hope Housing displayed their unique and wonderful talents ranging from Spoken word, Singing, and creative expression (mime).
The event was while attended by numerous Psi Alpha Alpha, New Hope Housing residents, and Bethlehem members. Many attendees expressed how much they enjoyed the program and are looking forward to next year’s annual event. Pamela Mitchel provided closing remarks with expressions of gratitude to everyone (supporters, performers, and guests) for coming out to support this year’s Black History Program.
