On Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 11:00 am the Psi Alpha Alpha chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. will host our Annual Talent Hunt Competition. The event will be held at John R. Lewis High School in Springfield, Va. Auditions will be held at the same location on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 11:00 am. Talent Hunt is one of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.'s mandated programs in which all Graduate and Undergraduate Chapters are required to participate. Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Talent Hunt contestants have appeared at venues such as the Apollo Theater and Radio City Music Hall in New York, the Philadelphia Academy of Music, and the Washington, DC Center for the Performing Arts based on their superior talent and recognition from this event. The competition is open to all students in grades 9 thru 12. All contestants will compete as soloists; group performances are not allowed. Contestants may enter to compete in ONE of the following performance categories:
Music: Vocal and instrumental; classical, semi-classical, gospel and jazz. A printed copy of the music (score) is required for the judges to analyze.
Interpretive Movement to Music: ballet, modern dance, and tap.
Speech: Poetry, oration, monologue, etc. (Printed script should be provided for each judge to analyze)
Visual Art: Sculpture, photography, drawing and painting.
