On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, the Psi Alpha Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. continued its proud tradition of service by providing Thanksgiving assistance to the Seniors of the Gum Springs Community Center in Alexandria, Virginia. This annual initiative took place during the Fraternity’s nationally recognized Achievement Week, underscoring the chapter’s deep commitment to uplift and community service.
Under the leadership of Basileus Bro. Ray Buckner, Social Action Committee Chairman Bro. KC Jones, and Gum Springs Community Liaison Bro. VJ Peoples, the chapter allocated a $750 budget to distribute 30 Shoppers Food Warehouse gift cards valued at $25 each. These cards are intended to support seniors in purchasing groceries for the Thanksgiving holiday, offering both relief and encouragement during a time that can be financially challenging for many.
This effort is part of a multi-year commitment by Psi Alpha Alpha to support Gum Springs Seniors through meaningful outreach and tangible resources. For several years, the chapter has made it a priority to ensure that the seniors in this historic community are not forgotten during the holiday season.
Special thanks are extended to the Gum Springs Community Center Directors and Staff, whose partnership and dedicated coordination made this year’s effort a success. Their continued collaboration ensures that Seniors not only receive support but also feel appreciated and valued.
As the chapter looks ahead, Psi Alpha Alpha remains steadfast in its mission to serve, uplift, and exemplify the Fraternity’s cardinal principles; especially during moments that bring communities together in gratitude and love.
