On April 19, 2020, the Brothers of Psi Alpha Alpha (PsiAA) Chapter, Third District, of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity held its primary fundraiser. This event raised over $32,000 this year. The first-place prize is normally a trip for two to the NCAA Final Four Championship basketball tournament which was to be held in 2020 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA. However, due to COVID-19, this event, like most other activities throughout the world, was cancelled. In an effort to continue to garner support for the NCAA Final Four Raffle, the first-place prize was changed to a $4,000 cash, the second-place prize was $500, the third-place prize was $250, and the fourth-place prize was $150.
The NCAA Final Four Raffle drawing was held virtually on April 19, 2020 in Woodbridge, VA at 5 p.m. and was streamed via ZOOM, Facebook, and other social media platforms—a first for this chapter! Proceeds from the raffle are awarded as scholarships for college-bound high school seniors and provide financial support for our community social action programs.
This year’s raffle winners were:
Grand Prize – Mr. Cleve Davis, $4,000 ( Ashburn, VA)
2nd Place – Mrs. Evelyn Parham, $500 (Newport News, VA)
3rd Place – Mr. Horris Gibson, $250 (Charlotte, NC) a Former 1st Place Winner
4th Place – Mr. Jaquis Gaskins, $150 (Manassas, VA)
