On January 21, 2019; the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Holiday; Psi Alpha Alpha Chapter (PsiAA), Third Distrct, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Social Action Committee’s “Day of Service” conducted two donation events (9am at Bailey’s Crossroads community Shelter and 1pm at Kennedy Shelter) by helping those most in need in Fairfax, County, Virginia – The guests who are homeless at New Hope Housing (NHH) shelters.
As the temperature hovered around 14 degrees Fahrenheit, the committee made hypothermia donations to the two main shelters at NHH – Bailey’s Crossroads Community Shelter in Falls Church, Virginia, and Eleanor U. Kennedy Shelter in Alexandria, Virginia.
The donation consisted of 240 Thermal Socks and 30 “Blessing Bags” composed of hygienic toiletries and snack items to improve the life of those less fortunate and needing “Uplift.” The Chapter has had a long-running relationship with NHH, and we look forward to providing additional assistance in the future.
